Revolutionary War Greenwood County 250

Greenwood County is home to Ninety Six National Historic Site, the site of the first battle in the state’s crusade. The site includes exhibits, structures and living history events that show what life was like in Colonial South Carolina, as well as how battles were fought.

Explore the Beginning of the Nation

Settlers in the wilderness struggled against the harsh South Carolina backcountry to survive. The Cherokee hunted and fought to keep their land. Two towns and a trading post were formed in the area, then abandoned to the elements. And two Revolutionary War battles claimed over 100 lives. Come discover the 18th century history of South Carolina.
