Under the Greenwood Sun

Take a shoreline stroll and get a great water view from your campsite at Lake Greenwood State Park. Enjoy the park’s amenities, paddle the blueways, drop a fishing line or dive into the lake’s many water sports. Check out the wildlife, or learn about local historic at the Drummond Center.

Lake Greenwood itself is 11,000 acres of brilliant blue fun. The lake is the place to enjoy championship fishing, family events, and entertainment options like the Jungle Float. Try lakeside dining, sandy beaches and water craft rentals. You can sail, swim or motor along, or paddle the blueway.

Golf is a Greenwood staple, with several beautiful, affordable courses that please both beginner and expert golfers. Some wind along the lake for spectacular views; others tie into area history. Just an hour from Augusta, our courses are terrific options for a golf getaway.

Wander the trails and enjoy the amenities of our in-town parks, which have picnic areas, playgrounds and other amenities. Trails within the parks provide a look at historic sites and areas of architectural interest. Stroll through Uptown to see the pollinator gardens that attract birds, bees and butterflies. Farms, nurseries and gardens also call us outside.

Dig deep into Colonial and Revolutionary times at Ninety Six National Historic Site. While you’re there, walk the trails, enjoy the Star Fort Pond and explore nature, wildlife and wildflowers.

Hike, bike or travel on horseback through outlying parks and trails like the Long Cane Horse Trail, a network of more than 25 miles of intermediate trails. Hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding are all good ways to explore.

With our mild climate, it’s possible to enjoy outdoor fun all year in Greenwood. From spring and summer festivals, like the famous SC Festival of Flowers, to holiday events on the streets of Uptown, there’s always a reason to be outdoors.
