About
Irvin Pitts Memorial Park lies along the shoals of the Saluda River, allowing visitors access to the river and several hundred yards of water-sculpted granite outcrops. It’s possible to (carefully) cross the river by rock hopping, even in areas where the river is 100 yards wide. In the summer, it’s a popular spot for wading, tubing, kayaking and fishing. Water birds and catfish are plentiful, and an annual catfish festival is held here.
