Go Rock Hopping at Irvin Pitts Park
Ware Shoals, SC 29692
Irvin Pitts Memorial Park lies along the shoals of the Saluda River, allowing visitors access to the river and several hundred yards of water-sculpted granite outcrops. It’s possible to (carefully) cross the river by rock hopping, even in areas where the river is 100 yards wide. In the summer, it's a popular spot for wading, tubing, kayaking and fishing. Water birds and catfish are plentiful, and an annual catfish festival is held here.
