A brand-new Gateway to Greenwood topiary will make its debut this year, an archway of petunias designed to be the perfect photo spot for festival goers. Jimmy McInville, 2015 Lakelands Master Gardener of the Year, had been turning over in his mind what to do with the retired camera topiary. His idea was to create a living photo booth, sponsored once again by Fujifilm, where visitors can have their picture taken and printed while they wait. City horticulture crews broke down the old metal frame, and shop superintendent Mike Hodge reworked it into the frame of the giant new photo booth. Horticulture supervisor Diana Fetters and her team began adding the plants that create the rich, colorful backdrop. The frame is lined with moss, then filled with multiple colors and varieties of petunias, with a ficus lining, a curtain of silver ponyfoot, and plumes and tufts of potato plant and red rooster sedge.
