Lake Greenwood is a paradise for boaters and fishermen, but it also attracts nature lovers inclined to cling to the shore. In addition to campgrounds and playgrounds, there are beautiful walking and hiking areas. The Lake Greenwood Nature Trail is an easy 0.8-mile loop along the shore, winding through forests of pine and hardwood. You’ll see water birds enjoying the lake. Start at the Recreation Building, and follow the blue markers. While you’re out, stop in at the John and Holly Self Drummond Conservation Education and Conference Center for the interactive exhibit on the Civilian Conservation Corps.
