How Does It Work?

Sign up for a one-day training session, and learn to be a Greenwood Ambassador.

You’ll spend half a day in class at one of the beautiful venues in Greenwood’s Arts District, learning about the best of Greenwood County and getting to know the other Ambassadors. Then, we’ll take you on a guided bus tour of some of the area’s attractions, from Uptown to Ware Shoals, and from Lake Greenwood to Ninety Six. 

Ambassador Training Schedule

Morning – day begins at 9am

• Brief presentation/overview on Greenwood and its attractions
• Panel discussion with local community leaders (Police, Fire, Public Works, etc.)
• Walking Tour of Uptown Greenwood
• Lunch
• Driving tour of Greenwood County

GRADUATION and Adjournment – 4:45pm

By the end of the day, you’ll have some great swag, a bunch of new friends, AND you’ll be a certified Greenwood Ambassador, ready to share your own Greenwood story with visitors. You’ll learn how to give visitors a memorable experience they’ll talk about for ages—and come back for more.

Who Can Be an Ambassador?

Anyone can join in the network of Ambassadors, whether you’ve lived here for three weeks or 30 years. The program is $25 (to cover incidentals and lunch) for anyone who is interested in learning more about what makes Greenwood an awesome place to visit and live.  Program participants may attend once per year.

We’ll have training sessions periodically, beginning in February, with a maximum of 10 participants. Private group classes are also available upon request for a cost of $250.00

All sessions last from 9am – 5pm, and class size is limited. Applications will be received and accepted on a first come, first serve basis, and payment will be accepted at class check in.  Checks and credit cards will be accepted.
