What once was Daily Bread Bakery in the small town of Abbeville, SC, is now The Bakery on Main located downtown Greenwood, SC!

Hey there, I’m Abby, the owner and baker behind The Bakery on Main. It all started in Mama’s kitchen. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved being in the kitchen whether it was with my Mama, Grandmother or brothers and sisters. One of the fondest memories I have of baking is learning the art of baking bread. At the age of ten,  Mama began bringing my sisters and I to our local farmers market each summer, where we sold bread as vendors. Together, we would bake close to 70 loaves of assorted yeast breads and sell almost every single loaf.  Growing up in a family of ten, fresh bread was a staple made daily. Therefore, we called our little endeavor Daily Bread, and little did we know,  that was only the beginning!

I continued to carry on the tradition, returning to the farmers market each Summer, turning this business into a growing enterprise.  It has always been a dream to open my very own Bakery.  On Valentine’s Day 2020, my husband Andrew and I, with the help of our dear friends and faithful family (and a whole lot of prayer), we opened Daily Bread Bakery in Abbeville, SC. Fast forward four and half years, we have out grown our 700 square feet brick and mortar in Abbeville which lead us to a move to the Bakery to uptown Greenwood with an exciting rebrand!

Growing up in Greenwood my whole life, it just felt right even though it is bittersweet leaving our first brick and mortar. We are pleased to now be located at 324 Main Street, Suite B in the beautiful Uptown Greenwood. With our move to Greenwood, the opportunity for a long-anticipated rebrand evolved. Ever since opening in Abbeville, almost all of our customers(as well as our family) have always referred to “Daily Bread Bakery” as “The Bakery” as we were the only bakery on the square! This led to the idea of ultimately naming it “The Bakery”. Now that we are on Main Street in Greenwood “The Bakery on Main” just stuck!
